What is EMDR Therapy?
EMDR Therapy is a therapy that focuses on what is felt in the body, as well as focusing on our thoughts. In our experience, this can lead to deeper changes than can be achieved with talking therapies. EMDR uses bilateral (side to side) eye movements, or other forms of bilateral stimulation, to help clients process the past events that are impacting them in the present. This can be a truly transformative experience, as not only does the emotional charge associated with the event reduce, reprocessing the memory also helps to form additional neural connections with other experiences, so that the client can develop new, helpful perspectives on the event and themselves. For example, a client who has spent decades believing that a childhood event was her fault, may develop deeper levels of compassion for her younger self and realise that she did nothing wrong, enabling her to let go of the guilt that she has carried for many years.

Psychological Consultancy and Support for Teams and Organisations
We offer consultancy to teams and organisations to bring psychological theories, ideas and strategies into the workplace. We can use behavioural science to develop ways to improve the wellbeing of your workforce. For example, we can deliver training on mindfulness and mindful communication, psychological safety within teams and trauma-informed practice. We can work with leaders to help them improve their psychological flexibility. We can also look at the work environment and make recommendations that will help the people who work for you function at their optimal level. Often work places have not been designed with the human nervous system in mind and a few tweaks can make help people feel more relaxed, which is good for wellbeing as well as productivity. We can help you support someone who has been on extended sick leave to return to work. We can offer specialist treatment for employees who are struggling with anxiety or are recovering from a distressing or traumatic event, such as an accident, complex birth or workplace bullying. Previous work within organisations has included evaluating a psychological support programme for NHS workers, offering psychological support sessions for volunteers within a charity and delivering training on trauma-informed care.
